The Google map gave the wrong directions to Alouette lake. The Google map points to Stave lake. In any case, we asked for directions and managed to get to Alouette lake. When we got to Alouette lake, there was not much to do unless you are a boater and/or a swimmer. There is a nice park nearby that the kids can play in. A small water park and a playground. We wasted 3 hours trying to get there. It was not all wasted. Kids had fun at the water park.
In any case, Alouette lake is in Golden Ears Provincial Park. The map can be seen at http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/regional_maps/vancouver.html and the directions to get into the park as well as other important information can be read at http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/golden_ears/golden_ears_web_brochure.pdf. Stave lake, for those interested can be viewed at http://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/explore/vancouver/fraser_valley/stave.htm.
